Piedmont University will be holding Lion Fest on Saturday, April 23. The event will begin at 10 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. at the Arrendale Amphitheatre, located at 359 College Drive, in Demorest. The event will feature food, beer, crafts, live music, and more.

The Toccoa City Commission approved a resolution to secure grant funding through the Appalachian Regional Commission for the Historic Ritz Theatre addition. During the Commission’s regular scheduled meeting on Monday, City Manager Billy Morse explained that the city is seeking $750,000 in grant funding. Several fire departments responded to a fire over the weekend.
