White nominated to serve on DFACS Board

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners has nominated Isaac White to fill the unexpired term of Bill Wheeler on the Department of Family and Children Services Board.

As WNEG News recently reported, the Commission originally nominated Lori Heffer to the board; however, during the Commission meeting on Tuesday, County Administrator Phyllis Ayers explained that Heffer would not be able to serve, due to a conflict of interest.

Commissioner Debbie Whitlock nominated White for the position.

A motion was made approving White fill the vacancy by Whitlock, with Commissioner Dennis Bell seconded the motion.

The motion was approved unanimously.

White will serve until the term expires on June 30, 2024.
