Wednesday is the deadline to drop off gifts for Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program

Tomorrow is the deadline to drop-off gifts for Angels in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.

Toccoa Service Center Director Rebecca Dixon says this year more than 200 families signed up for the Angel Tree Program, which represents almost 500 children, ranging in ages from newborn to 12-years-old, who need gifts.

Despite Wednesday being the deadline to drop-off gifts, you can still adopt an Angel by going to Walmart in Toccoa, the Beall’s stores in Toccoa and Cornelia, or by going online to the Salvation Army of Northeast Georgia website.

Adopting an angel from an Angel Tree means that you’ll purchase items on that child’s wish-list.

Dixon says this year they are asking everyone adopting an Angel to purchase an outfit so the child will be clothed this winter.

Each angel Ornament shows the angel’s name, age, clothes sizes, and wishes.

That could include items such as new clothes, shoes, socks, a jacket, and between one to three Toys.

According to Dixon, there are several ways to adopt an Angel.

She says you can adopt an Angel by going to Walmart in Toccoa, the Beall’s stores in Toccoa and Cornelia, or by going online to the Salvation Army of Northeast Georgia website.

Again, the deadline to bring gifts to the Toccoa Salvation Army Center, located at 306 East Franklin Street, is Wednesday, December 8th.

Dixon said this is an excellent opportunity for individuals and families, to share the excitement of shopping for a child who would otherwise not have much, if anything, for Christmas.
