Warmer, but wet, weather on the way

In a statement released yesterday by the National Weather Service, meteorologists said the arctic air mass that dropped temperatures to near record lows in the past few days will move out of the area today.

The report stated that the cold would remain through this morning, with temperatures 10-15 degrees below normal, but that high temperatures are expected to warm back to normal throughout today. Cloud cover is expected to return tonight, keeping nighttime temperatures warmer, and bringing a warming trend to last through Friday.

Locally, we will see lows above freezing, even rising to an expected low of 58 degrees on Thursday night, and highs rising throughout the week from 48 today to 66 on Thursday. With the warmer weather will come a return of the rain, with a 30 percent chance of showers on Tuesday, rising to 80 percent on Wednesday and 90 percent on Thursday.
