Individual Wanted for Involvement with Drug Trafficking Operation Arrested

One of the individuals wanted for involvement with the drug trafficking operation that was busted back in July has been arrested.

On July 28, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office shut down a drug trafficking operation being run by Donna Beard and Amber Nulls, both of Stephens County.

This operation was plaguing Stephens and surrounding counties and had been investigated 8 months prior to the bust, which began with a traffic stop on two of the suppliers.

This led to law enforcement conducting 10 search warrants and arresting 28 individuals who were members, suppliers and/or customers of the operation.

However, two individuals were not located at the time of these arrests, including Lisa “Butterfly” Smith and Johnathan Luke Norton.

According to Sheriff Randy Shirley, Norton was arrested on August 16 and is awaiting bond to be set by a superior court judge.

Shirley said Smith has not been seen in Stephens County recently.
