Walker named Player of the Year during Annual Football Awards Ceremony

Stephens County High School held its annual Football Awards Ceremony at the Tugaloo Center last Sunday afternoon.

Each player on the varsity and J-V teams was recognized.

Members of the All-Region Team received plaques as did each of the senior players.

WNEG presented our Player of the Year Award to senior Garrison Walker, who was a starter at defensive line and fullback.

Nikko Beady won the Trigger Thomason “Strive & Drive” Award, and Charles Cochran won the Ultimate Warrior Award.

Stephens County Head Football Coach Wesley Tankersley, said this senior group of players had to go through a lot of adversity.

The Stephens County football team finished the season with a 5 & 6 overall record and made it to the first round state playoffs.
