Walk raises $22,000 for Alzheimer’s Awareness

This past weekend was the inaugural Alzheimer’s Awareness 5k, held in Downtown Toccoa.
Organizer, Christy Coakley, told WNEG News that the event raised $22,000, surpassing her original $300 goal.
Coakley added that the community is charged with passion for finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
Several local businesses came together to support the cause some of which include Morgan’s Concrete and Northeast Georgia Bank, Coakley said.
