Union Home Mortgage opens in Toccoa

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce and area citizens recently welcomed Union Home Mortgage to downtown Toccoa with a celebration held on August 17.

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen welcomed Union Home Mortgage owner Rachel Unbehant and her team to their new location downtown, and Unbehant described the services her company offers.

The building previously housed a bakery, and has undergone extensive renovation to turn it into a business office, and Toccoa Mayor David Austin complemented the renovations and thanked Unbehant for her investment in downtown Toccoa.

Toccoa Community Development Director Connie Tabor mentioned Unbehant’s previous success in the mortgage industry and thanked her for her investment in downtown Toccoa and her participation in the Historic Preservation process.

Stephens County Development Authority president and CEO Brittany Ivey also expressed appreciation for the company’s investment in downtown Toccoa, and specifically mentioned the businesses’ importance to one of the SCSA’s strategic goals – affordable housing.

Paysen closed the welcoming ceremony, thanking Unbehant for choosing downtown Toccoa for the business’ new location and for becoming a part of the Toccoa/Stephens County Chamber of Commerce.
