Two Stephens County Deputies Crash After Impaired Driver Runs Stop Sign

On March 21, at approximately 7 p.m., two Stephens County Sheriff’s Office patrol cars were involved in a crash in which they collided with each other. 

According to a press release issued by Georgia State Patrol Post 7, deputies Sammy Feaster, 50, and Cody Bearden, 28, were “driving in a line on Prather Bridge Road when a 2009 Honda Accord ran a stop sign and failed to yield. The deputies swerved in opposite directions to avoid the vehicle and collided with each other as they tried to return to their lane.”

The driver of the Honda Accord, identified as Romuinzo Brown, 42, of Stephens County, was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence as well as several traffic violations. 

According to the release issued by Post 7, there were “no injuries reported.”
