Two SCHS Alumni to be inducted into the Hall of Fame

Two local Stephens County High School standouts will be inducted this Saturday into the Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame.

Cousins Pat Swilling and Ken Swilling are two of the 40-member class that will be inducted this Saturday at the second annual ceremony which will take place at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

Pat Swilling, a member of the Stephens County High School Class of 1981, played his college football at Georgia Tech where he set the single game sack record and was voted first team All-American. Swilling then had a lengthy stay in the NFL that included five pro bowl seasons and the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1991.

Ken Swilling, a member of the Stephens County High School Class of 1987, also played at Georgia Tech where  he was an All-American and member of the 1990 National Championship team.

Stephens County is only one of four Georgia high schools to have two players elected to be inducted into the Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame this year.
