Tugalo Street Greenspace Fundraiser Underway

Toccoa Main Street has officially kicked off the brick paver fundraiser for the Tugalo Street Greenspace Project and Main Street Director Kristen Deal spoke with WNEG News regarding the effort.

Deal notes that 2024 marks the 150th Anniversary of the City of Toccoa – chartered in 1874, a fact that she says makes the brick fundraiser even more timely – not only helping to provide funding for a vital component of downtown Toccoa’s growth and beautification, but allowing a unique way for citizens to be involved in the celebration of both the city’s past and future.

She said that businesses, organizations and individuals can purchase bricks, which are $100 each, including engraving.

She said brick purchases will be open until approximately March 15, with brick installation being the final phase of the greenspace construction before its opening this coming June.

She explained that the fundraiser gives citizens a hands-on way to be involved in this project.
