Truett McConnell to Host Tomb of the Unknowns Replica

In White County, Truett McConnell University will host an exhibit honoring our military’s service to this country.

On April 20th, the College will host a replica of the Tomb of the Unknowns its annual Faith and Freedom Celebration.

This year’s special guests will be Lt. Col. Oliver North and Todd Starnes.

This design of the tomb is a half-scale, but is an exact replica of the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

The monument is dedicated to American service members who have died without their remains being identified.

The Americanism Committee of the Exchange Club of Rome displays the replica at many events for public viewing.

According to their Web site, the goal of the committee is to make sure that the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform are never forgotten.

The exhibit will be on display to the public, free of charge, in the George Blaurock Student Wellness Center on the TMU campus, Friday, April 20 from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.

To purchase tickets for the Faith and Freedom Celebration, you can go online to truett.edu/faithandfreedom, or call the TMU office of Advancement at 706-865-2134, ext. 3801.
