Tru Vista Celebrates 120 Years

The communications company TruVista celebrated 120 years of service Thursday evening at the Reflections Event Center located at Lake Toccoa.

The event was part of a Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours and was attended by community and business leaders in Toccoa-Stephens County.

Headquartered in Chester, SC, TruVista started in 1897 and has provided communication services to Chester, Fairfield and Kershaw counties in South Carolina, and Franklin, Hart, Rabun and Stephens counties in Georgia.

Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service Allison Jakubecy says the company is not only proud of the past, but excited to bring new products to the communities they serve. “We are continuing to build fiber and expand our coverage. We are also able to do things to expand in our existing footprint where we are offering 250 meg. to our existing customers. So exciting things happening.”

TruVista offers a variety of products and services to residential and business customers including: voice, internet, cable television, security, long distance, and wireless services.

TruVista began operations in Northeast Georgia in 2012 when the company acquired the cable systems serving Toccoa and Clayton from Northland Communications.

Jakubecy says TruVista has had a great relationship with the communities “We are excited to be here and we want to provide the best service possible to our customers. We are excited to be involved in the community.”
