Trimming downtown for Christmas

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Stephens County.

Passersby may have noticed, the addition of some cheerful trimmings taking shape outside the Stephens County Historical Courthouse and around downtown Toccoa.

Toccoa’s Vice Mayor Gail Fry is one of the many people who plays a role in the annual event. She says this year they’ve made several additions including lighted garland and wreaths at the historic courthouse.

She said that both the city and the county have worked together to create a better display.

Fry added that last year’s response was tremendous, and she is expecting an even larger turnout this year.

“Its something to be proud of in your hometown.”

According to Fry, this year’s Main Street Toccoa Christmas Fest will be held on Friday, November 30.
