TPD’s Giving Tree up for one more day

As WNEG News recently told you, the Toccoa Police Department has a Giving Tree set up in the lobby of the Police Station.

The purpose of the Giving Tree is to provide residents with kids to take what they need.

Two administrative assistants with the Toccoa Police Department partnered using donated resources to install the tree.

Toccoa Police Department Administrative Assistant Donna Barnett says the Giving Tree has a slew of items for residents to take.

She says the purpose of the Giving Tree is for you to “take what you need, need what you take.”

Items include clothing, shoes, and toys for children of all ages.

The Giving Tree is available for residents to take from, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily; but the police station lobby is closed from 12 to 1 p.m. each day for lunch.

Barnett says her and Administrative Assistant Lynn Walton came up with the idea.

She says all the items are new or gently used.

The Giving Tree was made possible using donations from American Eagle, Adam Harkness Law, the Toccoa Police Department, and donations from the public.

Again, Barnett encourages everyone to take what they need.
