TPD seeking information suspect

The Toccoa Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating an individual involved in a shooting on July 18.

On July 18, shortly before 4 p.m.,Toccoa Police Department was dispatched to Falls Park Apartments on Prather Bridge Road in response to a report of gunfire, Police Chief Jimmy Mize told WNEG News.

Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and began interviewing witnesses, and the Criminal Investigation Division was notified and responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. The gun used in this incident has been recovered

One male, later identified as Ruben Walker, 22, of Toccoa, was arrested and taken to Toccoa Police Department. Walker was charged with tampering with evidence and obstruction of law enforcement officers.

The incident appears to stem from a verbal altercation that had taken place in the apartment complex, Mize told WNEG. Larquavious Shyne Colbert of Martin is suspected to be the second individual involved in the incident and has been charged with a felony charge of tampering with evidence, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
