TPD make multiple drug arrests at Georgia Housing Authority Properties

The Toccoa Police Department recently made multiple drug arrest from the Northeast Georgia Housing Authority Properties.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, throughout the Spring, the Toccoa Police Department’s Narcotics Detective, working with Stephens County Drug Investigators made a sting of arrest for drugs in a response to citizen complaints about residents in the area.

Mize says on April 30, the Toccoa Police Department Narcotics Detective arrested Peter Turowski, 71, of 293 Queen Street for possession of marijuana.

Also, on April 30, they arrested 39-year-old Ronnie Cheek, at 15 Audubon Street for possession of a schedule I controlled substance and drug related objects.

Then on May 8, the Toccoa Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division along with Stephens County’s Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant following an investigation at 14 Ramey Terrace.

At that location, 29-year-old Terrance Rashad Fortson was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, criminal trespassing, and possession of drug related objects.

31-year-old Damarian Queshawn Flentall was also arrested for possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug related objects.

28-year-old Carrie Paige McIntosh was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug related objects.

Mize says on June 1, the Toccoa Police Department’s Narcotics Detective issued warrants for 31-year-old Adam Blake Griffin for selling methamphetamine and transactions in drugs sales within 1,000 feet of government housing. This offense took place at 81 Skyview Lane. Griffin also received an additional charge of possession of methamphetamine.

On June 9, according to Mize, the Toccoa Police Department’s Narcotics Detective, along with Stephens County CID and Toccoa PD Patrol Units served a search warrant at 128 Camden Court following a month-long investigation into the selling of drugs at that location.

Mize says this investigation was started with a citizen complaint about suspicious activity.

Upon completion of the search warrant, 19-year-old Jestin Daniels and 19-year-old Kali Rain Phillips were both charged with distribution of schedule I controlled substance, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, simple possession of marijuana and transactions in drug sales within 1,000 feet of government housing.

Oryan Wiley, 20, was also arrested for possession of marijuana during that warrant.

Mize says the Toccoa Police Department has a strong working relationship with the Georgia Housing Authority and will continue to work closely with them to remove person who wish to use the properties as a location to sell drugs.

More arrests of drug dealers in Housing is expected as the effort continues.
