TPD, GBI investigating death of a child
The Toccoa Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are working together to investigate the death of a toddler.
According to a release issued by the GBI, on Monday, at 7:15 p.m., Stephens County 911 received a call regarding an unresponsive child at a home in the area of Riley Street in Toccoa.
The child ultimately was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The GBI was requested to assist the Toccoa Police Department with the death investigation on Monday, January 30, at approximately 8:15 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy is pending.
No other details have been released at this time.
