TPD arrest 3 Toccoa residents for selling drugs after two, month-long investigations

The Toccoa Police Department recently concluded two, month-long investigations into the sale of illegal drugs.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, on January 9, officers with the Toccoa Police Department and investigators with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 501 West Franklin Street after a month-long investigation into drugs being sold out of the residence.

During their search, law enforcement uncovered a quantity of MDMA/Ecstasy, Marijuana, scales and a firearm.

38-year-old Kevin Dupree was arrested at the residence and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, distribution of marijuana, possession of MDMA/Ecstasy with intent to distribute and possession of an electronic device to violate the controlled substance act.

25-year-old Emerald Thurmond was also arrested  at the residence and charged with possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, distribution of marijuana and possession of MDMA/Ecstasy with intent to distribute.

Mize says on January 17 the police department closed another month-long investigation into the selling of marijuana on Bell Street.

According to Mize, investigators and officers served a search warrant at 44 Bell Street, in Toccoa. During the search of the residence, a large quantity of marijuana was located along with scales and several firearms.

28-year-old Marcus Quillian, who lives at the residence, was arrested and charged with distribution of marijuana and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

In both cases, the subjects were transported to the Stephens County Jail and are awaiting bond.
