Tonight’s BOC Meeting To Be Relocated to Grand Jury Room

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. today for a regularly scheduled meeting. Note that the meeting today will take place in the Grand Jury Room at the Stephens County Government Building, 70 North Alexander Street. The meeting will not take place at the normal location in the Historic Courthouse due to election day activities at the Courthouse.  

On the agenda for the meeting is consideration of a variance request for driveway placement at a property located on Lakeside Trail in Martin, and consideration of a variance request for long-term residential living in a camper at property located on Shorewood Circle. 

Also on the agenda is a presentation of the FY2024 audit by Mauldin & Jenkins, and discussion of the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office radio system and an associated request for re-allocation of ARPA funds. 

The meeting will close out with consideration of a motion to approve a slate of nominations to the Stephens County Hospital Authority to fill the unexpired term of Bill McDougal, ending September 30, 2025, and approval of invoices or quotes over $10,000. The only Invoice listed for this session is a routine Acre Oil invoice for  $14,479.
