Toccoa’s Spradlin named to NGTC Foundation Board of Trustees

Jeremy Spradlin of Toccoa was recently inducted into the The North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) Foundation Board of Trustees. Also inducted were Sidney Roland III of Clarkesville, Mark Henson of Blue Ridge, and Erik Brinke of Murphy, N.C.

Spradlin graduated from Toccoa Falls College with a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and began his career with Georgia Power Company (GPC) in 2000 as an apprentice lineman. Since then, he has held various roles in the company including lighting coordinator, senior engineering analyst, sales associate, lineman and local manager of the Hartwell area. Spradlin currently serves as the Clayton/Cornelia area manager and is responsible for representing GPC in Banks, Habersham, Rabun and White counties. He, his wife, Courtney, and their three children currently reside in Stephens County and are members of Rock Creek Baptist Church.

Roland is a lifelong resident of Habersham County and a graduate of Habersham Central High School, Piedmont College, Georgia Banking School, and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He has been a local community banker for 44 years and currently serves as a project manager for Traditions Bank, leading a project to build a new Clarkesville office. Roland is married to his wife, Allison, who is a retired educator of 31 years. They have four children and continue to serve at River Point Community Church, in which Roland is a founding member. He also remains active in the community and is currently serving on several boards.

Henson, a lifelong resident of Fannin County, began his education career as a paraprofessional and held numerous positions throughout his career including teacher, assistant principal, principal, curriculum director, transportation director, assistant superintendent and superintendent. During this time, he also served on boards for Fannin County Department of Health and Fannin County Mountain Education as well as chairman of the Pioneer RESA Board. After 30 years of service to Fannin County Board of Education, Henson retired and served on the Fannin County Board of Assessors. He is married to his wife, Stacy, of 34 years, and they have a daughter, Reagan, who is attending college.

Brinke is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has over 30 years of experience in workforce and economic development and business management. He has worked with Blue Ridge Mountain Electric Membership Corporation for more than 20 years and currently serves as the director of administrative services and external relations. Brinke is an NRECA-Certified Key Account Executive. He is a member of both the Georgia and North Carolina Economic Developers Associations, serves on the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Rural Economic Development Cabinet, is chairman of the TVPAA Fiber Deployment Advisory Group and serves on a number of other boards and committees. Brinke also serves as guardian ad litem, and he and his wife, Paige, have a 20-year-old son, Asher, and 17-year-old daughter, Anna.

NGTC Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Marketing and Executive Director of the NGTC Foundation Amy Hulsey said “We are very thankful Erik, Jeremy, Mark and Sidney have joined our Foundation Board of Trustees and bring strong community ties to our fundraising efforts for North Georgia Tech. They all have a strong commitment to workforce development for our service area, and we are very appreciative of their willingness to serve to continue making improvements for our students and our college.”
