Toccoa’s Christmas Parade slated for Saturday

The annual Toccoa Christmas Parade is coming up this weekend in downtown Toccoa.

The annual parade is sponsored by the Toccoa Women’s Club, and this year, will take place on Saturday, December 5 at 4 p.m.

Floats will begin lining up at 2:30 p.m.

According to Women’s Club Member Bonnie Sparks, the parade’s theme is “Christmas in America.”

She says judges will be looking for the best interpretation of that theme, and floats will be judged on creativity, best effort extended to create and build the float, and enthusiasm.

Cash prizes for the best floats will be awarded in three categories: school, church/civic, and all other.

There will also be an award for Best Overall float.

Sparks encourages those attending the parade to spread out instead of gathering in groups in one area.

Again, the annual Toccoa Christmas Parade will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 5.
