Toccoa woman receives 2nd DUI in under a year

A Toccoa woman has been arrested and charged with her second DUI in less than a year.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, on the evening of January 10, an officer patrolling Big A Road observed a Jeep weaving over the fog line.

A traffic stop was then performed.

The officer requested the driver step out of the vehicle because her license had been suspended and her eyes appeared to dilate in the light, suggesting she was under the influence of drugs.

Officers discovered methamphetamine and marijuana inside the vehicle.

The passenger was also found to have marijuana in their possession; however, the driver claimed all illegal drugs.

Officers issued the passenger a warning and was released.

Robbie Marie Garrett, 46, of Toccoa was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving on a suspended license and DUI/drugs.

She was then taken to the Stephens County Jail.

According to Mize, this was Garrett’s second DUI in less than a year.
