Toccoa woman arrested after locking son in home while setting of bug bombs

The Toccoa Police Department has arrested a Toccoa woman after officers responded to a residence on Valley Drive in reference to a poisoning call.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, on June 18, when his officers arrived on scene, they found a juvenile at a bedroom window gasping for air.

Mize says forced entry had to be made into the home due to the juvenile being in distress; once inside, officers were able to remove the juvenile and turned him over to EMS who had also been dispatched to the residence.

The juvenile told officers his mother, later identified as Susan White, had set off several bug bombs in the residence and had locked him inside.

He was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.

Mize says warrants were later secured for White for reckless conduct and she was arrested and transported to Stephens County Jail.
