Toccoa to adopt unchanged millage rate at tonight’s Commission meeting

The Toccoa City Commission will meet for a regularly-scheduled meeting this evening at 5 p.m.

The meeting will be held at Toccoa City Hall, 92 North Alexander Street in Toccoa.

The meeting is open to the public.

Included on the meeting agenda is consideration of the 2023 Tax Millage Rate.

As reported by WNEG News in early June, City Manager Billy Morse announced at the June 12 meeting that the millage rate would remain unchanged.

Commissioners are expected to approve the millage rate during tonight’s meeting.

According to City Clerk Freda Wheeler, tax notices will be mailed on Sept. 15 and taxes will be due by November 15.

Also on the agenda is a resolution authorizing a Georgia Forestry Commission Grant for tree planting, and the purchase of an HVAC system for the Hope Center.
