Toccoa-Stephens Co. Recreation Department Hosting Fireworks Show Tonight

The Stephens County Recreation Department is hosting the annual Fourth of July fireworks show tonight behind the Roselane ball fields at the rec department.

Executive Director Richard Adams said that people should begin arriving around 6:30 and the fireworks will begin around 9:20.

“People will start arriving around 6:30 and we won’t start shooting fireworks until around 9:20 or right after dark,” said Adams. “The place will fill up so I suggest to come around 6:30 and bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets or blankets.”

According to Adams, each year the community responds well to the show.

“We’ve always got good community reaction to it,” said Adams. “We’ve always got businesses in the community willing to support us. First Franklin Financial supported us the last three years and this year, them and Mega Motorsports are splitting it.”

Adams said the show will go on, rain or shine and concessions will also be open with hamburgers, hotdogs and more.

Tonight’s music during the fireworks will be provided by WNEG.
