Toccoa Senior League All-Stars Take State Title

The Toccoa Senior League All-Stars captured the StateTournament Championship Wednesday evening at Doyle St. Park in Toccoa with a 10-5 win over Oconee County.

The win was the second in a row for the local 15 and 16 year olds.

Toccoa defeated Oconee in back to back games to win the top spot in the state.

Findley Ward went six innings on the mound for the win Wednesday evening, scattering 8 hits and

striking out six. Haden Scott finished out the game in the seventh.

At the plate, Ward had two RBIs with a single and a double. Cade Hogan knocked in a couple of runs

with a key double in the fifth inning. Konnor Loudermilk, Chase Pollack, Tyler Zigan (zuh gahn), Haden Scott and Jax Higgins all had RBI’s for Toccoa.

Walker Duvall and Gavin McDonald each had two RBIs for Oconee County.

The win sends the Toccoa Senior League All-Stars to Safety Harbor, Florida for the Southeast District Tournament which begins July 22.
