Toccoa Quality Foods employee tests positive for COVID-19, customers not believed to be at risk

Quality Foods has released a statement regarding one of its employees testing positive for COVID-19.

On Quality Foods’ Facebook page, the following statement was released: “Quality Foods has received confirmation from the Georgia Department of Public Health that an employee who works at Toccoa Quality Foods, Toccoa, GA has tested positive for COVID-19. We are praying for our employee and their family during this time.”

Quality Foods was notified of the positive case of COVID-19 late Saturday evening.

According to officials with Quality Foods, the Toccoa store completed an enhanced deep cleaning disinfection on Sunday, when the store was closed in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Georgia Department of Agriculture, and Georgia Department of Public Health.

Following the disinfection protocol and with the support of the public health department, the store is operating normal business hours, Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

According to the post made by Quality Foods, the Georgia Department of Public Health has stated that store customers are considered to be at low risk of exposure and the products sold at the store do not represent a risk to customers.

As part of Quality Foods response to COVID-19, the company had implemented a heightened disinfection and enhanced cleaning program.

Additionally, out of consideration for older customers or customers with compromised immune systems, customers are asked to consider shopping after 8:00 a.m., to allow those customers with a greater risk, to shop first between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.

Again, the Georgia Department of Public Health has stated that store customers are considered to be at low risk of exposure and the products sold at the store do not represent a risk to customers.
