Toccoa PD welcomes new patrolmen Moore

Toccoa Police Departments new patrolman Lynn Moore

The Toccoa Police Department recently welcomed Lynn Moore to its team of patrolmen.

Moore brings with her close to 13-years of experience in law enforcement.

Toccoa’s Interim Police Chief Jimmy Mize tells WNEG News about Moore joining his other officers.

“Lynn is very out spoken and outgoing, I think she’ll be a great fit for the community. She’s very easy to talk to, and I think she’s already started making friends here. So I just believe she’ll be great for the department and just a great fit,” he said.

Moore told WNEG News what she hopes to bring to the Toccoa Police Department.

“I hope to bring joy to Toccoa, after we can get some of the gross stuff off the street, I hope to do some community policing,” she said.

Prior to beginning her career in law enforcement she worked as a dispatcher for E911 in Habersham.

During her time as a dispatcher she learned how to remain calm in a crisis, a skill that she brings with her to Toccoa, she added.

“It was constantly up-and-down call after call, so you learned really fast how to remain calm during a crisis, and keep a calm and monotone voice. Being a dispatcher I learned to stay calm, and that’s something that I’ll have with me from here on out,” Moore said.
