Toccoa man arrested for DUI, Hit and Run
The Toccoa Police Department recently arrested a Toccoa man.
According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, on June 23, around 10:51 officers with the Toccoa Police Department were dispatched to an accident with unknown injuries at the intersection of South Pond Street and Davis Avenue.
Officers arrived on scene and observed a vehicle that had left the roadway and crashed in between two houses located on South Pond Street.
The vehicle had struck a parked car located between the two houses and witnesses told officers the driver had fled.
Officers were able to locate the driver, identified as 28-year-old Zachary Cameron.
Mize says, Cameron was arrested on multiple traffic violations including DUI, Hit and Run, and Driving on a suspended license.
Cameron was also charged with two counts of obstruction against a police officer.
He was transported to the Stephens County Jail and turned over to the jail staff.
