Toccoa man arrested after deputies find him selling drugs from his residence

A Toccoa man is behind bars after an anonymous tip brought attention to him dealing illegal narcotics from his residence.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley on November 26, investigators seized a quantity of marijuana from a home on Maple Road, in Toccoa.

Shirley says the investigation began after information was received from an anonymous tip regarding the ongoing sale of illegal narcotics from the home.

Investigators traveled to the residence and spoke with the homeowner, Jake Brandon Umberhant.

While speaking with the suspect, investigators noticed some marijuana lying out in plain view.

Based upon the presence of illegal drugs being in plain view, a search of the home was conducted.

Shirley says during the search deputies and investigators discovered approximately 6 ounces of prepackaged marijuana, digital weighting scales, and additional packaging material—All items used to facilitate the sale of marijuana.

Jake Brandon Umberhant, 29, of Toccoa was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

He was transported to the Stephens County Jail where he is currently being held without a bond due to a parole violation hold.
