Toccoa Main Street Receives National Accreditation

Main Street Toccoa has been designated as an accredited Main Street America™ program for meeting rigorous performance standards set by the National Main Street Center.

“We are proud to receive designation for 2019,” stated Main Street Manager Christian Hamilton. “Once again, Main Street Toccoa has been evaluated by the National Main Street Center and has passed with flying colors. We are also thankful to have been re-designated as a Georgia Exceptional Main Street (GEMS) from our state program, the highest designation awarded in the state. It is due to the efforts of our great staff, volunteers, and wonderful downtown business and property owners that Historic Downtown Toccoa continues to thrive as the heart of our community.”

Each year, the National Main Street Center and its partners announce the list of accredited Main Street America programs to recognize their exemplary commitment to preservation-based economic development and community revitalization through the Main Street Approach™

Toccoa has already been designated a Georgia Exceptional Main Street or GEMS community by Georgia Main Street.
