Toccoa Little League 11&12 All-Stars Win District Championship

Toccoa won the 11 & 12 Little League Baseball District 7 Tournament Saturday in Rabun County  by the score of 10 to 2 over Franklin County.
In a game that was suspended Friday night due to lightning and rain, Toccoa pitchers Patrick Murray and Carson Worley scattered 6 hits and struck out a total of 13 batters.  Franklin’s only runs came in the fourth inning on a 2-run homer by Ryder Emmons.
Toccoa hit 4 home runs, beginning with a 2-run home run in in the 1st inning by Carson Worley to give Toccoa an early 2 to 0 lead.  Abe Stowe had a solo shot in the 3rd inning to make it 3 to 0.  Carson Worley and Patrick Murray hit back-to-back homers in the 5th inning to make it 5 to 2.
Toccoa added 5 insurance runs in the 6th inning on an RBI double by Abe Stowe, a 2-RBI double by Ben Stowe, and a 2-RBI single by Mason Dyer.

Toccoa will now represent District 7 in the State Tournament which will begin Saturday, July 22, in Peachtree City.  Toccoa will face the host team, Peachtree City, in the first round with game time scheduled at 1:30.
