Toccoa Junior League All-Stars defeats Bartow County, 11-1, at State Baseball Tournament

The Toccoa Junior League All-Stars defeated Bartow County 11 to 1 in six innings at the State Baseball Tournament in Columbus Tuesday night.

With the win, they’ll have a re-match with Athens today at 5.  If Toccoa secures the win, they’ll play a second game against Athens tonight, with the winner claiming the state title and moving on to the Southeast Regional in Virginia.

Toccoa lost to Athens Monday night, 15 to 9.

In Tuesday night’s game, Toccoa got off to a good start by scoring 3 runs in the 1st inning on RBI’s from Branson Stowe, Ryan King, and Caiden Hamilton.

Toccoa extended their lead to 5 in the third inning.

In the top of the 4th inning, Bartow County scored their only run.

Toccoa added 1 run in the 4th, 2 runs in the 5th, and 3 more in the 6th inning to end the game on the 10-run rule.

Duke Collins got the win on the mound for Toccoa by pitching 5 and 1/3 innings and giving up only one run to Bartow County.
