Toccoa Holds Off Elimination

The Toccoa Little League baseball team had eight hits and scored 9 runs in the first two innings, and rolled to a 12-1 victory over Franklin County in 4 innings Monday night in the District 7 Tournament in Lavonia.

Toccoa Pitcher Grant Babbitt was outstanding allowing a run on just one hit, and striking out seven in 4 innings of work.

Landon Carter had three RBI’s to lead the offense, Caiden Sweat and William Roush had 2 RBI’s each, and Toccoa also got RBI’s from Braden Griffen and Zander Walsh. Will Tomlinson scored three times for Toccoa.

Tyler Hodge had the RBI for Franklin County.

Toccoa will now face Hart County Tuesday night with a chance to advance to the Championship round. Madison County defeated Hart County on Monday 3-2 to remain undefeated in the tournament.
