Toccoa Highway into Westminster SC closed after Chicken Truck Overturns

UPDATE: At approximately 12:45 p.m. this afternoon, Westminster Fire Chief Michael Smith advised WNEG News that the detour on Toccoa Highway was still active, and did not have an updated time of clearance. He said that a small fuel leak in the overturned truck had been resolved, and that the Fire units were no longer on scene, but the cleanup efforts were still impeding traffic. 

Highway 123/Toccoa Highway into Westminster, South Carolina will be closed until 11 AM or after as officials clean up an accident scene after a tractor trailer caring chickens overturned. According to officials on site, the driver was not injured, but It will take some time to collect the hundreds of Live chickens that escaped from the overturned truck. Traffic in both directions is closed from Cleveland Pike Road on the west to Hopewell Road on the east
