Toccoa Falls in Elimination Game

Hart County scored 5 runs in the first inning and never trailed on their way to a 10-4 victory over Toccoa in the Little League Baseball District 7 tournament Tuesday night in Lavonia.

Hart County had three hits and took advantage of four walks to grab the 5-0 lead. Toccoa battled back with two runs each in both of the 2nd and 3rd innings to trim the lead to 5-4, but a two-out two run home run by Hart County’s Owen Kesler extended the lead to 7-4 and Hart County added on in the 4th and 5th innings for the final tally.

Cadien Sweat, Nate Ivester, Zander Walsh, and William Roush  had RBI’s for Toccoa, and Roush had two hits with a triple and a double.

Toccoa is eliminated from the District 7 tournament. Hart County advances to the Championship round on Thursday when they will face Madison County.

WNEG’s next Little League broadcast will be Saturday when the Toccoa 9-10 Softball All-Stars take on Oconee County in the State tournament in Cartersville. Airtime on Saturday is scheduled for 11:45 A.M.
