Toccoa Downs Rabun County in District 7 12U Opener

The Toccoa 12U All-Stars rolled to a 12-5 victory over Rabun County in their first game in the District 7 Tournament Thursday night in Hartwell.

Toccoa banged out 16 hits in the game and got stellar pitching from starter Landry Williams and reliever Caden Hamilton.

Williams pitched three innings and struck out 9 of the 10 batters that he faced. Hamilton followed with two innings of shutout ball while striking out 5.

Toccoa pitchers combined for 16 strikeouts in the game.

Hamilton and Brant Smith led the hitting attack with three hits each, and Isiah Patterson and Duke Collins had a pair of hits each.

Toccoa led 12-0 after 5 innings and all 5 Rabun County runs were in scored in the final frame.

Toccoa will now face Hart County in the winner’s bracket on Friday night with the winner advancing to the championship. Hart County defeated Franklin County 18-4 in 4 innings.

Airtime for Friday night’s Toccoa-Hart County game is scheduled for 6:45 P.M. with first pitch at 7 P.M. on WNEG.
