Toccoa Alumni Recognized by NGTC

Several alumni of North Georgia Technical College who are from Toccoa were recognized at the annual Alumni Lunch and Awards Celebration on June 10.

Ethan Lord of Toccoa graduated from NGTC in 2014 with an engineering degree and was one of three who received the Young Alumni Award.

This award is for those who have graduated within the last five years, who have distinguished themselves in their field of study and made contributions in their chosen profession.

Another Toccoa alumni, Thomas Cochran was among one other recipient of the Career Achievement Award. Cochran graduated in 1988 from the welding program and was recognized because he is working in his field of study and has distinguished himself in his career.

Lastly, Toccoa native Morris Harrison was one of two recipients of the Hall of Fame Award. This award goes to someone who has graduated at least 20 years prior to nomination.

Harrison is a 1979 graduate of the NGTC Small Engine Mechanics Program and until earlier this year when he retired, was  the Marine Engine Technology Instructor at NGTC.

The Alumni Lunch and Awards is an annual event held each year in June on the Clarkesville Campus.
