Toccoa 9-10 Softball All-Stars win Title

Add another championship to the Toccoa All-Stars.

The Toccoa 9-10 Softball All-Stars brought home another District 7 championship Tuesday night with a 4-1 win over Hart County in Hartwell.

Toccoa scored two runs in the third inning to break a scoreless tie when Addison Colbert and Bailee Shedd had back to back singles, and after Kylee Glaze advanced the runners they scored on Carissa Smith’s base hit.

Toccoa added to their lead with runs in both the top of the 5th and 6th innings. In the 5th inning, Shedd ripped a ball into left field that got by the fielder and Shedd circled the bases. In the 6th, Smith led off with a triple, and scored on Carson Stowe’s RBI single.

Hart County’s lone run came in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Stowe was outstanding on the mound pitching all six innings and striking out ten Hart County batters.

Toccoa will now advance to the State Tournament in Cartersville hosted by Bartow County Little League. They will face District 10 in their first game on July 7th at noon.

The Toccoa Little League 11-12 Softball All-Stars did not fare as well on Tuesday falling to Hart County 8-1. Hart County now advances to the championship round and Toccoa will try to get there when they return to action Wednesday night in an elimination game. Airtime is set for 6:45 P.M. on WNEG.
