Toccoa 9-10 Baseball All-Stars Win District Championship

The Toccoa 9-10 Baseball All-Stars completed a Toccoa Little League sweep of the week at Rabun County Park on Saturday defeating Habersham County 7-1.

Toccoa’s Findlay Ward allowed a run in the top of the first inning, but that is all that Habersham would get as Ward pitched the complete six inning game, allowing only four hits, two walks, and striking out two.

Toccoa tied the game in the bottom of the first, but the offense really got going in the bottom of the second inning. With two out, Ethan Simpson plated two runs with a single, and Lane Pressley added a two-run triple. Toccoa added runs in each of the third and fourth innings, one on an RBI by Grant McGee.

Micah Huff had the lone Habersham RBI.

Toccoa swept through the tournament without a loss. Earlier in the week, the Toccoa 10-11 Baseball All-Stars swept through their tournament undefeated.

The Toccoa 9-10 Baseball All-Stars now advance to the State Tournament set to begin on July 7th in Dudley.
