Toccoa 9 & 10 All-Stars Win District 7 Tournament
The Toccoa 9 & 10 Baseball All-Stars won the District 7 Tournament in Danielsville Saturday afternoon with a 13-4 victory over Habersham.
Toccoa broke out to an 8-0 lead, but Habersham cut the lead in half, 8-4, by the end of the 4th inning. Toccoa scored 3 runs in the 5th inning and 2 more in the 6th while holding Habersham scoreless to capture the win.
Toccoa pitcher Jack Wilhoit pitched the entire game scattering 9 hits and striking out 5. Ethan Smith led Toccoa at the plate with 4 hits and 4 RBI’s. Toccoa will now travel to Savannah for the State Tournament beginning Saturday, July 8.
In other Little League All-Star action, the Toccoa 9 & 10 Softball All-Stars defeated Hart County, 17-6, in the District 7 Tournament in Rabun County. Toccoa will face Franklin Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. WNEG will broadcast the game with airtime at 1:45 p.m.
