Timothy Wayne Hale

Timothy Wayne Hale — “Tim” — age 75, of Toccoa, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center from complications of myelodysplastic syndrome. His illness was short, and he will be missed dearly.

Born August 8, 1946, Tim was the son of the late James and Christine (Edmunds) Hale. Tim departs for heaven ahead of his wife of 53 years, Mary Kathryn Hayes (Katie), their children, Melissa Davis and Travis Hale, the children’s spouses Jason Davis and Elaine Hale, Tim and Katie’s grandchildren — Grayson and Bethany Davis and Huckleberry and Thoreau Hale, Tim’s brother Philip Hale, Philip’s wife Sallie, and many other beloved extended family members and friends.

After graduating from Stephens County High School and Georgia Tech, Tim worked his entire career with the U.S. Geological Survey, briefly in Kentucky, but mostly in Georgia.  He took great joy in his work and his colleagues. Tim loved Jesus and was a long-standing member, deacon, and Sunday School teacher at Central Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia and then First Baptist Church Toccoa. His civic interests included working with Keep Toccoa Stephens County Beautiful and Tugaloo Bend.  He loved bluegrass and gospel music, reading, painting, hiking, traveling, fishing, and telling great stories.

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 24 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with The Reverend David Ritcey officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jeremy Boatright, JD Hale, Allyn Harris, Henry Hayes, Jeffrey Howard and Stephen Savage.  There will not be a graveside committal at this time

The family will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, July 23, 2022from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, July 24 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
