Thursday’s DPH Covid-19 Area & State Report

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 63 COVID-related deaths in Stephens County, and 20 more positive cases of the virus bringing the total to 2,650 since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Thursday afternoon.

The latest report has Habersham County with one more death bringing that total to 114 and now 4,297 positive cases of the virus. Hart County is now reporting 29 deaths, two more than on Wednesday, and 1,515 cases, and Banks County is now reporting another death for a total of 26 and 1426 cases.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County still has 28 deaths and now 2,085 positive cases, and Rabun County is still reporting 31 deaths and now 1,329 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, the number of positive cases in Georgia went back up to over 5,000 cases in the past 24 hours, for a total now of 737,205, of those 361 were hospitalized for a total now of 49,608 and 145 more died for a total death count in the state now at 12,280.
