Three People Face Gang Charges in 2018 Toccoa Murder and Aggravated Assault

Multiple charges of gang activity have been added to charges against three people connected to a Toccoa murder and an aggravated assault.

On Monday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced that the August 2018 murder of Keshon Joel Green and the July 2018 shooting of 18-year old Spencer Reason were associated with criminal gang activity.

In a press release, GBI spokesperson Nelly Miles said on August 20, 2019, a Stephens County Grand Jury was asked to consider new testimony in the ongoing murder investigation into the death of Joel Keshon Green, 18, of Toccoa, Georgia and in the aggravated assault of Spencer Reason, 18, of Toccoa, Georgia.

22-year old Kentavious Broudmain Walker, 30-year old Demetrius Sanchez Smith, and 24-year old Ty’Jai Trammel, all of Toccoa, were charged in his murder.

18-year old Samantha Breanna George, and Kentavious Broudmain Walker were charged with the aggravated assault.

Miles said as the investigation continued new evidence was uncovered and the cases were again brought before the Stephens County Grand Jury last week.

As a result of the Grand Jury proceedings, a true bill indictment was returned and additional warrants against Walker, Smith and George were issued.

Walker is now charged with malice murder, felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of a firearm during the commission of a felony and 24 counts of violation of the Street Gang Terrorism And Prevention Act.

Smith is also charged with malice murder, felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of a firearm during the commission of a felony and 22 counts of violation of the Street Gang Terrorism And Prevention Act.

George is now charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and 3 counts of violation of the Street Gang Terrorism And Prevention Act.

Walker and Smith are in custody and will remain in custody.

George was arrested on August 21, 2019 by agents with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office. She is also charged with trafficking methamphetamine.

The Mountain Judicial District Attorney’s office is prosecuting both cases.
