Three City Commissioners take Oath of Office

Three Toccoa City Commissioners-Elect took their oath of office on Monday during the Toccoa City Commission regular scheduled meeting.

Commissioners-Elect Gail Fry, Terry Carter, and David Austin all agreed to the oath, as administered by Judge Bob Struble.

Both Commissioners Fry and Carter are beginning their third term as City Commissioners, and Austin is beginning his sixth term as a City Commissioner.

In other business, the Commission made two appointments to the Northeast Georgia Housing Authority Board.

City Manager Billy Morse presented the board with the recommended appointments.

Following Morse’s comments, the Commission reappointed Billy Chism to the Northeast Georgia Housing Authority, and appointed Isaac White to fill the vacated seat of Board member Jenna Charles, who submitted her resignation from the board, effective December 31, 2019.

The appointments were approved unanimously.
