Three Banks Co. Teens Arrested for Golf Club Burglary

In Banks County, three teens are charged with burglarizing a golf club in Homer.
Banks County Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt.Carissa McFaddin said on Monday morning , Banks County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary on the property of Chimney Oaks Golf Club on Hammer’s Glen Drive in Homer sometime Sunday.
According to the complainant, there were a number of items stolen from inside a building, including lawn equipment, electronics and gasoline.
The estimated the value of the stolen items to be approximately $61,850.
On Monday, while on patrol in the area of Grove Level Road, a Banks County Sheriff’s deputy observed an older model blue Jeep Cherokee traveling recklessly and at a high rate of speed in the opposite direction.
The deputy lost the vehicle but later found it in a driveway on Carson Segars Road.
Inside were several individuals, but as the deputy exited his patrol car, a male suspect standing outside the vehicle fled on foot.
Four other individuals stayed inside the vehicle as additional deputies arrived to the scene.
While speaking with all occupants, deputies saw items inside the car that included equipment stolen from Chimney Oaks Golf Course.
Additional items were located at the residence that were also confirmed to be linked to Chimney Oaks Golf Course burglary.
McFaddin said deputies then arrested three suspects.
“Individually, Wade Bolton, 17 of Homer, has been charged with theft by receiving stolen property,” said McFaddin. “Louis Styles, also 17 of Homer, is being charged with felony burglary, and Adrian Scranton, 19 of Eatonton, is being charged with felony burglary and theft by taking. All three male subjects are being housed at Banks County Detention Center and are awaiting a bond hearing.”
McFaddin said investigators have located 90 percent of the reported stolen items and they continue to follow leads to find the final item taken Sunday from the golf club.
