The Overlook Senior Living now open in Toccoa

The Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce celebrated one of its newest members, The Overlook Senior Living, with a ribbon tying ceremony.

The Overlook Senior Living is a residential facility for seniors located at 45 Rock Quarry Road, in Toccoa.

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen says the ribbon tying ceremony symbolizes a community coming around a business in support of the services it provides.

The Overlook Senior Living is owned by Mandy and Ryan Mewborn.

Mandy tells WNEG News that they also own the Veranda in Carnesville and wanted to offer the residents of Toccoa a similar senior facility here in Stephens County.

“We own the Veranda in Carnesville, it is a senior living community, so we wanted to come to Toccoa and offer the same type of quality care that we are currently providing in Carnesville to all the residents in Toccoa. We pride ourselves in providing care and partnering with different providers such as home health and hospice to provide quality of care to all levels of seniors. We provide a good, clean environment, home-cooked meals, lots of fun activities, medication management, all of those things to anyone who is interested,” she said.

The Overlook Senior Living Executive Director Sarah Strickland says they will have their first resident move in this week.

“We’re super excited to open this home. We are going to have 11 residents starting next Friday, so we are very eager to get these residents in here. We cannot be anymore thrilled to hear from other people in the community who are excited that we are coming to offer this type of home to the community. Our goal here is to keep and to care for as many residents as possible and show them how much they are loved regardless the level of care that they need,” Strickland said.
