The Hope Center for Wellness and Recover set to open April 1

The Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce celebrated one of its newest members, The Hope Center for Wellness and Recovery, last week with a ribbon tying ceremony.

The Hope Center for Wellness and Recovery is Stephens County’s new short-term treatment center to oversee the withdrawal of individuals with a substance addiction.

The Hope Center for Wellness and Recovery is located at 467 West Doyle Street, in Toccoa, in the former Coats and Clark Office building.

According to Travis Dobbs, the Hope Center for Wellness and Recovery Medical Director, they will offer a 21-day inpatient detox program and outpatient counseling services.

“The inpatient service is going to be a detox, is a 21-day treatment program. That starts with an initial detox, which can be four to seven days. Then they’ll go into the recovery part of it, which will include counseling services that teach them coping mechanism and building the foundation for long-term recovery. Once they complete the program, we’ll have a person that refers them if they need longer recovery rehabilitation program, a safe home to go to, we’ll set them up with counseling services once they’re discharged from the program. But we also have outpatient counseling services too, and we have an Employee Assistant Program that works with local employees,” Dobbs said.

The Hope Center for Wellness and Recovery Director of Counseling Kevin Kurtz told WNEG about the outpatient counseling services they offer.

“Some individuals in the EAP could use our residential services, but the majority will be outpatient services. They can call the facility and we’ll get them service. That will be open throughout the week,” Kurtz said.

The Hope Center for Wellness and Recovery is tentatively set to open on April 1, 2021.
