TFD respond to two separate fires on Thursday

The Toccoa Fire Department had a busy day on Thursday as they fought two structure fires.

The first fire occurred Thursday afternoon on West Currahee Street.

According to reports, a “boom” was heard, and two small buildings caught fire just below the railroad tracks and down below the old location of Wright Manufacturing.

TFD work to put out a fire that occurred at an abandoned residence on Zebulon Branch Road, Thursday evening.

Then later Thursday, around 6:30 p.m., the Toccoa Fire Department responded to the second structure fire, this time at an abandoned, vacant home located off of Zebulon Branch Road.

Upon their arrival, the Fire Department found the structure fully engulfed.

According to reports, no injuries were sustained in the fire.
